Today at University, it was our last lecture/seminar of the first semester before our deadline this week (yikes)!
We were asked to make a list and then discuss what we like about the course and what we don't like as much - for me this was pretty easy as my views from the beginning of the course haven't changed that much.
Here was my list of likes & dislikes:
What I like about the course-
+ Meeting people with similar interests/ambitions to myself.
+ Creating a working visual book that shows my progress.
+ Making memories i.e. New York 2015.
+ Being independent i.e. meeting deadlines, making sure I am on time to my lectures, making contacts.
+ Even when you feel like you just want to have a long bath with a fashion magazine, being encouraged to keep blogging. (I do love blogging I just sometimes think of other things to be doing).
What I dislike about the course-
- The lectures/seminars being spread out throughout the week rather than together in the space of two days which makes it very hard to work part time.
- Lectures that go over what you have previously learnt.
- As I am commuting an hour and a half each way, sometimes I do feel like was it really worth my travelling this far just to learn that, or some days learn anything at all.
- The one thing I really struggle with is not being able to see any previous examples of work books or portfolios in person - as it is my first semester I am yet to learn how much work gains a 1st degree.
Overall, I feel like the course is perfect for me and all of the work we are set I actually do enjoy researching and creating the final outcome so for that I am so happy. However the other side of being at university is that theres always that 'what if' feeling. Since giving up my full time job and declining other work, it really makes me think 'I really hope this is all worth it'.
But I guess in my heart I do think it is worth it otherwise I wouldn't have chosen this path. Since I was young I have always been infatuated with fashion magazines, shopping/styling and writing so I guess I have to stick these three years out to hopefully get to where I want to be.
If you are at university/deciding whether university is right for you, what is your current feeling?
Love Ella X
